Insubordination

March 2, 2015

Today a harvester who I rebuked pushed me. This is a very serious crime. I told his entire crew they will all have to suffer for the hot headedness of one man. The sentence is harsh. They will not be able to find work for a radius of 200 km. Nothing else needs to be said.

Punishment must be swift, fair with the requisite resolve. End of story.

Kampung law demands that I hear a petition from his family. This will be held tomorrow beneath the shade of a tree. It is a proceeding open to all. But it is really just a formality.

My mind has already been made.
