Dr Yaacob and his broken record about CoC.

Let’s dive straight in. Yaacob Ibrahim wants a Code of Conduct for the Internet. He wants it so bad that he can’t seem to stop talking about it. Even when everyone has forgotten about it and moved on to other stuff – Yaacob is still jumping out like a demented Jack in the box and wants us all to buy into a CoC.

Yaacob believes the CoC will go a long way to promote ‘honest, constructive, rational” discussions online?

The way I see it, most netizens are quite baffled by Yaacob. Since the vast majority of netizens do not see the internet as the main problem facing our society. On the contrary, they see the government and the entire state controlled apparatus i.e MSM, as the main problem that impedes, “‘honest, constructive, rational” dialogue. As both of them don’t seem very interested to account for their incomprehensible acts and omissions. Neither do they seem very interested in forwarding the truth either. Instead what they do is regularly manipulate the truth to suit their own ends by exageratting, embellishing, mythologizing and conflating their version of the truth. That simply means the level of trust that exist between officialdom and netizens stand at zero. So how can there even be consensus under those conditions?

And that Yaacob is the truth and nothing but the truth.

So what do you say Yaacob? Why don’t you work on the trust factor first? By fixing many of the things that are broken in both the ST and government – to put it another way, why don’t you get your own house in order first Yaacob. BEFORE you come down here and tell us what we should all do. After that we will talk about CoC for the internet.
