Will the US under Trump continue to try to crush China?

Personally I dont think the US can crush China politically, economically.socially or technologically. Let me start with the political front, the US is no longer the gold standard of governance, it is for lack of a better word a seriously dysfunctional system of governance. Economically the US is in a precarious position. One reason for this is because it is at loggerheads with two of its closest neighbors, Mexico and Canada.my feel is this sentiment is likely to infect the European relationships as well. Hence the US is shifting from an engaged mode to one that is insular and parochial and probably provincial. Socially? Well nothing is hapoening there. Technologically, I think this will be the decider. The US will at some point realise it is counter productive to forward its hegemon in the world, it will at some point realise that it makes far more sense to cooperate than to fight China.

The question is how much damage would have to be borne out by both the economies of the US and China before they both reach a version 2 Nixon moment….my feel is this will take maybe two years.
