What is happening to the US and the rest of the world?

A: Kompf. Imagine a castle that has always had it draw bridge opened for as long as you can remember. In this walled city trade and commerce by and large is to all intents and purposes free wheeling. Suddenly the draw bridge is slowly cranked and the moat that circles this imaginary walked city is slowly been filled with water and probably piranhas and crocs. To my understanding this is what the US needs to do…(interruption).

Q: Needs to do – is a strange choice of words. Can you elaborate further on this theory?

A: I dont think its strange. As a matter of fact that is really how it is because for lack of a better phrase – the US has run out of road. This is not a new phenomenon – it happened to China around 450 BC when the Win dynasty reached an economic and military inflection point where it could no longer exercise command and control over its vast territories and their response was simply to draw a line by integrating all the walls that we know today as the Great Wall of China. What many people dont realise is the Great Wall wasnt meant to stop an invading horde as much as a means to attempt to manage a given set of resources that has been directed to a problem effectively and efficiently. We see the same phenomenon been played out In the last decades of the Roman Empire where their vast largesse of empire became such a liability to their exchequer that it even bankrupted their treasury and the same thing happened to the British Empire. At the end of WW2, Great Britian wasnt so great any longer and as a result the needed to divest themselves from the liability of supporting their empires to direct scarce resources to their own domestic needs. My point is the US has reached the same brick wall or inflection point where it simply cannot be the world’s policeman without hurting its domestic interest any longer. (Interruption)

Q: What does this inflection point or brick wall in foreign policy formulation mean for the rest of the world and is it really good thing for the US and the rest of the world?

A: I think the letters are 50 foot tall and its even in bright orange neon – from now you are on your own, dont come knocking on the door at the White House if you have nothing to offer except maybe a begging bowl…we dont even have time for you. That basically means leaders like Marcos Junior who grew up believing the US was the patron saint of democracy and they were children of democracy can no longer rely on USAID hand outs to perpetuate their class politics…its finished. It also means the EU now seriously needs to consider putting boots on the ground if they are really serious about continuing the Russo Ukraine war. As for the status of being a reliable ally of the US. I wouldnt say at this moment its a faded and worn appellation that looks increasingly like a bad joke, but lets just say it has seen better days and its less self confident today. Is this a good thing? I dont know. But its something the US needs to do because like I mentioned – it has run out of road and it can no longer play that super expensive role of world policeman. Is it good for the US? Again I dont know, but what I do know is the US is a divided and possibly even decaying society. It needs to heal. It may even need a regime of strong steroids because so many things about the US are well and truly broken beyond repair. Above all, I happen to believe if the US can resolve many of its domestic concerns and anxieties that cause so many of its natives stress such as the rising cost of living, immigration, healthcare, bureaucratic red tape etc etc etc…it will be a happier country and that simply means the US will stand a better chance of being an agent of positive change like Tolstoy once wrote – all happy families resemble one another, each unhappy family is unhappy in its own way…..at the risk of being cryptic. I think this is quote summarizes what I really feel deep down about the US and the rest of the world Kompf.

I wish Trump and the third stage Guild navigator well….by the way when are we planning to go to Mars?
