Liberation or Ruination Tarrifs – The Trump & Musk fall out
June 6, 2025
Q; Around April 6th. You predicted that Trump will begin losing the MAGA support base and this would eventually lead to a coup d’etat in the US. Do you think the Trump and Musk fall presages the end of the Trump administration and finally what is likely to replace the current administration ?
A: I see the current Trump vs Musk spat as a microcosm of a larger conflict within the MAGA movement. One of the reasons why these divisions exist and will continue to do so is simply because the MAGA movement is literally brand new that many of its cornerstone principles have yet to be fleshed out. I think we need to provide some story abt the context of why Mr Musk locked horns with Trump. The issue is over what Trumpians refer too as the big beautiful bill (bbb). The part that Mr Musk seems to have a problem with is essentially economic and not ideological or philosophical, he believes the US needs to get a handle on the US deficit and this means moderating the debt ceiling along with perhaps constricting spending at the federal and state level. At one level of understanding this seems sensible. But how Mr Musk goes about it is less than sensible. Especially when one considers how personal the fight between him and Trump will go. My feel is Mr Musk is going to get the Jack Ma treatment. He may choose to offshore his car, rocket and AI industries, but its unlikely that he will be able to do so completely given that all his industries are considered state interest in the context of US national security. Most probably he will end up like a post modernist version of Howard Hughes and this saddens me. Only because I want to go to Mars. As for where the MAGA movement is headed from this point onwards its hard to say. I think I speak for all of us, when I say the sadness is profound. I want to stop here, if you all dont mind. Thank you.
