How to develop a mental core – Part 1

August 23, 2025

Switch off all electronic devices. Not just enable airplane mode. I believe these things emit a disruptive mental wave lenght that interferes with the exercise. Walk alone in a secluded area. A threadmill could just as well do. This might be scary at first, but you will get used to it. Stay away from people as they also broadcast fields of energy. This is a solitary exercise. Try to do this on terrain with a slight incline, steps are good. Proceed slowly. With every step feel the texture of the ground beneath your feet. If you can’t feel anything, its not because of the shoes. You are proceeding too fast. Slow down…if possible start in slow motion. Soon you would notice a mental storm forming. This is natural because the mind rebels against all attempts to discipline it by a process of clever distraction. Imagine yourself just watching this storm forming….all sorts of images and thoughts will begin to impress themselves upon you. Yet you do not allow them to be part of you….instead all you do is proceed along. Pick up speed, but be mindful to keep it comfortable and manageable. What you want is a steady cruising rhythm to set your pace for walking. Keep at it for 30 to 45 min. If you feel tired, dont stop, just slow down to a crawl, but never stop. Stopping breaks the rhythm, it snaps the power of the spell. Remember the rhythm is your friend. Your mind is the enemy….this is where I will stop for Part 1.

Learning outcome:

We like to believe the mind is ours and it should even be completely trusted. But I do not believe this to be true. Truth is what we believe to be the core of ones being is secreted in a fortress that the mind itself has constructed. Before the core can be revealed, this fortress needs to be stormed. Do not for one moment believe the core of one’s consciousness will lend itself to persuasion. Reason is ineffective as the mind will put all sorts of clever defenses. It will resist and it do so with the same vigor that it has used to construct and hide the core….imagine your mind as an eclair, it is sorrounded by a hard shell that is encrusted with layers upon layers of fossilized memories, most of which are unpleasant, hurtful and humiliating…..we are talking about deeply embedded fears, shame and even the unknown….the goal of this exercise is not to storm this fortress of imagined fears and hopes in one go. Rather it is to prepare the right mindset along with expectatiins to do so…..once we have cultivated this skill of arms. We will lay seige to this fortress. This is the goal. To first train, train and train thru the discipline of repetition. The skeleton key that will enable you to gain access to the core is the rhythm or pulse that you sharpen in this exercise. This steady rhythm breaks ups this protective shell with very small burst of energy….it will be jugular in part 2……remember the rhythm is the skeleton key. It will take a while for you to discover the rhythm…or maybe it will find you. Dont force it. As this has nothing to do with will power. Just keep at it. When you can sense the rhythm, feel its texture with your minds eye, observe how it expands and contracts…try to make out its form.
