Virtue

You cant be truly virtuous if all you can do is sit in your armchair and pontificate about why the world should not be the way it is. Truly virtuous people have the agency of power to make the world a better place and to accomplish this sometimes requires the most banal, venal and ruthless aspect of what it means to be human. To me that is true virtue. The capacity to suppress yourself and become something so terrible that you once abhored….that is true virtue and selflessness.
