There’s a good reason why I don’t blog about geo politics any longer…

It all doesn’t seem to make any sense any longer…I guess most leaders are just keeping their heads down and avoiding eye contact with Trump & Co. Somewhere at the back of their heads. They are all probably hoping that if they can just hang on for 3 long years or he dies suddenly, then everything will go back to the way it used to me. To me, this is akin to magic thinking. Truth is simply brutal, the US is going thru a phase of deep introspection and what will emerge AFTER Trump will probably be more of the same. At the root of the rot is simply this – the US is bleeding profusely as a hegemony and it’s decline cannot be arrested. This reminds me of the last emperor of Rome, Romulus Augustulus who during his infant reign issued all sorts of wild and incomprehensible decress which involved moving imaginary legions in his fast disintegrating empire. This sad story is now repeated in the final curtain call of the US as a world power….from this point onwards it’s downhill all the way.
